Post 7: An Expert on your Field

Imagen
I don’t admire any specific people, but in my university staff I think I have met people who really seem to be from another world. when I was freshman, I had introductory courses where they made several talks of the areas where I could work as a pharmacist and one of those exhibitions left a mark on me. The professor who gave this talk is Dr. Sergio Lavandero, He is a pharmacist at the University of Chile, He has carried out research in the areas of signal transduction in biomedicine, specifically in the study of cardiovascular diseases. His concise talk on the frontiers of knowledge and how one can work to the limit of this, he mentioned that he was a regular student, that he had resorted to several courses, but it served to better understand these. He has conducted more than 200 studies, He is director of a cardiology journal and director of institutes of chronic diseases. When I heard about him, I was surprised.

Post 6: A Band / Singer I like

Imagen
it’s weird to say, but I don’t have a favorite band or artist, I don’t know much about music. I usually like soundtracks of movies, series or video games. For example the imperial march of star wars or the rains of castemere of game of thrones, I consider music I like.  I could say that instrumental music is what I like. I’m not sure why I like it, but I guess it’s because composers seek to express certain things about a story.  In if I don’t have a favorite song, but one of the ones that I marked in my adolescence was an litlle part from Mozart’s lacrimosa, I don’t know why, but I loved it.

Post 5: A photograph I like

Imagen
This post was difficult for me, I don’t take many pictures. But I found a picture of my last vacation, photo I this took and shows the village of my family, Renaico is a small commune in the Araucania. It was taken in September of last year, specifically for september 18th. I like it for its symbolic value, my girlfriend went there to meet my relatives and it was the first time she traveled south. Now that I think about it I could have taken better pictures and so have better memories portrayed, as maybe even when we can’t travel again. It was a nice trip for both of us, I will take a course in photography so I can have more memories like this

Post 4: My Best Friend

My best friends name is Patricio Castillo, he is a commercial engineering student at this university. I met Patricio at CEMLAP School and we were classmates at Basic First in 2006. With him we have been friends for about 14 years, since I have my most conscious memories he has been there.  I consider Patricio my best friend because since we met he has never left me alone, I have difficulty making friends and he has always given me support. When we were little we used to go to my house and play video games or just talk, as we grown up we have seen I chader little, but whenever we see each other again it is as if we have never ground appart. Really the Pato has been my first and best friend ever, I hope it will always be so.

Post 3: My Favorite Piece of Technology

My favorite technological device is the portable computer,  I have had it since 2016, which was the year I finished high school, my mother gave it to me for my university entrance, before I had a government pc. It is my favorite device for its versatility, I can study, work and play.  Lately I’ve used it daily, minimum 6 hours a day. I n the current context I think I would have many complications if I didn’t have it, because in my daily life it became a must-have article, using it to study in the week, communicate with people and be informed about what is going on. Before everything happened this year, I also used the computer a lot, usually to read, do college work and entertain me i self. I guess I adapted better to being so long sat by my sedentary past.

Post 2: Why did you choose your career / study programm?

Hello, when I was a kid I looked at college as something unattainable, in my family no one had gone to college, so talking about studies was something very new. Like many children I liked dinosaurs, star wars and experiments. I guess, I always wanted to study something acientific, but the idea terrified me. At hight school I had a teacher who helped me to make my mind, in school I was doing well, but I did not know what to study or where. When I gave the psu I got a good score that allowed me to apply for medicine, chemistry and physics, for money that year I could not study, so I waited for a year, to solve this problem and see what career to choose, even if it came to chemistry and pharmacy. My time in college has had ups and downs, but I have managed to learn very interesting things and very good people. I have always wanted to investigate, I wish I could live off it and contribute to the community.
